This old mosque is located in Gholdari village of Alamdanga upazila in Chuadanga district. It is a rectangular and three-domed mosque. It is known that it was once covered with deep forest. Later the jungle was cleaned and make the mosque useful. Even though this mosque have been renovated, its main structure is still intact.
Gholdari Jami Mosque is about 40 feet in length and width is about 10 feet long. There are two rows inside the original mosque. In these two rows, about 60 prayers can pray. There are 4 towers in the four corners of the four walls of the mosque. You can see small shaped dome on the towers. There are three gates on the east wall of the mosque. You can see two towers of these doors. The small dome has been constructed on the towers. In the interior wall of the mosque there are terracotta of flowers and sapling. In the evolution of the times, they are erased today. The mosque is made of small bricks and lime-sticks. It is reported, this is the first mosque built in this district. According to many, the mosque was built in 1006 AD. Although no reliable evidence of this information is available, it can be said that it is an old ancient mosque.
To see the mosque you will have to go to the railway station of Alamdanga from Chuadanga city. From there you will have to go the Gholdari Bazar in the Gholdari village. From Filling Station of the old bus station in Chuadanga district, it is possible to go directly at Gholdari Bazar by local vehicles. This old mosque is about 1 kilometer away from Gholdari Bazar.
